Trans Balkan Wheels – 4 days of stunning views

I think this is one of the best circuits of the Trans Balkan Wheels . It is a pass-through three beautiful valleys, Valbona, Vusanje, and Theth Valley, and two countries between Montenegro to Albania. Check out the details of the Trans Balkan Wheels circuit:

Day 1: Trek from Valbona to Vusanje via Rosi Pass (Rosi peak)

Valbona to Vusanje is one of the best trails of the Trans Balkan Wheels. Regardless of the fact that it is not very popular (like Valbona to Theth), I think it is more beautiful. This hike is not only a pass from a village to another village, but it is also a pass-through two beautiful Valleys, Valbona Valley to Vusanje Valley, and it is a pass from the country of Montenegro to Albania. When you reach Rosi Pass, if you have energy, I would highly suggest going to the Rosi peak 2’524. The view from the top is breathtaking:

Day 2: Trek from Vusanje to Theth via Peja Pass

In my perspective, this day stands out as the most exquisite. This trek isn't just a journey between two villages; it's an adventure through two breathtaking valleys—the Vusanje Valley to the Theth Valley.

What makes it even more remarkable is that you're crossing from Montenegro to Albania, essentially walking across borders with a spectacular vista as your backdrop.

The pinnacle of the landscape's magnificence unveils itself at Peja Pass, standing at an elevation of 1,865 meters. From this vantage point, the picturesque Theth Valley comes into view, presenting a scene of unparalleled beauty.

Day 3: Hike around Theth National Park

Theth National Park stands as one of Albania's most secluded gems, providing access to unspoiled landscapes and a historical tapestry of highland life that has remained untouched by external influences for centuries. Within its confines, you'll encounter a tight-knit community that thrives on the land, nestled amidst the grandeur of awe-inspiring mountains.

Day 4: Hike from Theth National Park to Valbona Valley

The Theth to Valbona trail stands out as one of the Trans Balkan Wheels' (Prokletije) most enchanting and renowned treks. Embarking on this journey treats you to the splendid vistas of both Theth Valley and Valbona Valley. Rated as moderate in difficulty, the trail is accessible from mid-May to mid-November. The pinnacle of the trek is marked by Qafa e Valbones (Valbona Pass), reaching an altitude of around 1,795 meters.

Starting altitude: 800 m/alt Highest altitude: 1’795 m/alt Elevation gain: 900 m
